HOW often have we heard this - Singaporean men are boring.

Right? Wrong.

On the other hand, it seems that our female counterparts are the ones who are incapable of turning up the heat in the bedroom.Wait. Maybe that statement is taking it one step too far. The fact of the matter is that according to research done by Time magazine, only 18 per cent of Singaporean women say that they initiate sex.

For those who are not mathematically inclined, this means that four out of five local lasses never take the initiative when it comes to conjugal duties.

Whoa. That is a very sad and disappointing statistic.

For their sake, I hope that they either look as enticing as Zoe Tay or as body-licious as the reigning Miss Universe 2007 Riyo Mori for the men to be breaking the speed limit on the Pan Island Expressway after work just so that they can jump straight into their arms and then into bed.

If not, then please expect a long and cold lonely slumber for much of the 365 days in a year. What is especially disturbing to me is that after all the talk about liberation and independence, it is evident that a majority of women are unable to seize their husband's hand and lead them to conjugal bliss.

It is even more ironic if you are able to lead a multi-national corporation but find it awkward to dominate nocturnal proceedings.

Now, now. There really is no need to be so shy. Allow me to let you in on a secret. A woman who knows what she wants is sexy. But a woman who knows what she wants and takes destiny into her own hands gets to ride the bull by the horns.

NAUGHTY IS NICE

Men find that very refreshing and definitely a big turn-on, especially if their other halves take charge at unexpected or inopportune moments. Here are some suggestions on how you can turn some of his fantasies into reality:

• There is a big party at home and all the relatives are in the living room. Click! You just locked the bedroom door...

• Costumes are nice, especially if you manage to find your old school uniform. Now he can finally get to know your educational history more intimately;
