ACCORDING to Mr John Lok, principal consultant of FengShui0011.com, if you are a 27-year-old single born in the Year of the Rooster, forget looking for love in the upcoming Year of the Rat, which starts tomorrow.

He says you stand to lose money, your virginity, or your mind.

Of course, do take the prediction with a pinch of salt because a whole host of other factors comes into play.

Mr Raymond Lo, a Hong Kong-based fengshui practitioner and researcher, says that the coming Year of the Rat is a Year of Peach Blossom or the Flower of Romance.

Mr Lo adds that in fengshui terms, the star representing the Flower of Romance is the number "4". He says: "For people who would like to enhance their chance of romance, they can place a pot of peach blossom in the north-east corner of their home starting from Feb 4, 2008."

Here are the romance prospects for the year ahead, as forecast by Mr Lok:

Rat (1996, 1984, 1972, 1960, 1948)
Not a good year for romance. You will face pressure in your love life.

Ox (1997, 1985, 1973, 1961, 1949)
Obstinacy and a resistance to change will characterise your relationships in 2008. The best partner for you will be someone born in the Year of the Pig.

Tiger (1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950)
It is a good year for love. Any problems of the heart will be easily resolved. Even if your heart is broken, you will bounce back quickly. You can afford to be more adventurous in love this year.

Rabbit (1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951)
Forget romance. Most romantic encounters would be unfavourable.

Dragon (1988, 1976, 1964, 1952, 1940)
Like those born in the Year of the Tiger, you will have a fruitful year for love. The best partner for you is someone born in the Year of the Monkey.
