Keeping the romance alive

PETRINA Kow, 31, and Lingun Sung, 36, know what it means to keep the romance alive and to spend time with each other, despite holding down jobs and having children.

Ms Kow, a 91.3FM radio DJ on the morning show, and Mr Sung, CEO of Peach Blossom Media, have been  married since 2001. A year and a half later, they had Victoria. Nine months ago, they had baby Oliver.

Ms Kow said: "It seems sometimes that we barely have time for each other. But  we manage, catching up for a few minutes before going to bed at night, or squeezing in the occasional movie, dinner, or even a late-night coffee.

"We make the effort because we know it's important to have time together."

Last weekend, she went shopping with Mr Sung, she said. He makes grand gestures sometimes, too and she recalls her birthday last March, when he filled the house with roses. She said: "He must have bought an entire shop's worth, and there weren't enough vessels in the house to hold them all."

She added: "It's about having the mindset of still  being a couple together.

"Once you know you're on the same page and have the same goals, things are easier. And your goals will
change and develop, but the important thing is that they do so with your partner's."
