Cooking tips for your domestic help

Help is at hand for busy mums and working professionals who want to provide healthful, nutritious meals for their families, but do not know their way around the kitchen, or have little precious time to impart nutritional knowledge to their domestic helpers,.

Health Promotion Board (HPB), Foreign Workers Association for Skills Training (FAST) and Nation Employment recently launched the Basic Healthy Culinary Course for Foreign Domestic Workers.

Your domestic help can learn skills such as reading nutrition labels, choosing fruits and vegetables, and reducing fat and salt content in dishes.  The course also includes a hands-on cooking class to prepare stir-fried vegetables and chicken curry - the healthier way.

Participants will receive a certificate and a set of recipe cards and nutrition tips she can share with the whole family at the end of the course.
