2. Find the right time and place for the both of you to communicate. Don't start complaining or express negative feelings after your partner comes home from a long day at work.
3. Do something special for your loved one; something as simple as cooking a meal or saying "I love you" will let them know that you appreciate him/her.
4. While both of you share certain interests, respect and be tolerant of differences. Give your partner space to do what he/she likes, even if you don't have the slightest enthusiasm for it.
5. Overlook the little things that might spark off a quarrel. There's no point arguing over how someone squeezes the toothpaste or whether the toilet seat is up or down.
