New TV channel for kids

There will be more TV content to tease the minds of children as young as pre-schoolers to primary school level (aged six to 10), as Singtel offers a new multi-platform channel, KidsCo on mio TV.

Launched today, KidsCo is a new international children's television network which will be broadcast 24 hours, seven days a week, will also offer family movies in the evening designed to be watched by the whole family.

Pre-schoolers can enjoy programmes such as 3D series such as Rolie Polie Olie, and animated series with titles such as Little Bear, Babar and The Magic School Bus.

Older children and adults who grew up in the 1980s will be able to look forward with nostalgia to cartoons like Dennis the Menace, Heathcliss and Inspector Gadget to look forward to.

Mr Low Ka Hoe, Director of mio TV and Content, said: "We are very pleased to be bringing KidsCo to mio TV.

"Providing content that is fun and entertaining, yet education and wholesome is top priority for us. KidsCo is one of the leading international names in children's entertainment. As such, we are very pleased to be the first pay TV platform to introduce the channel to young Singapore audiences and their families."

Mr Paul Robinson, Managing Director of KidsCo Worldwide, said: "KidsCo's three programming zones of preschool, kids aged six - 10 and family will feature great animated and live action content plus movies with special seasonal programming and character stunts to ensure that there is always something fresh and exciting on the channel."

Existing customers get a free episode of selected KidsCo content such as Jane and the Dragon, Dance Revolution and The New Adventures of Madeline.

The channel is available on mio TV Channel 29 on a monthly basis at $6.42 per month or on a twelve month basis at $5.35 per month.
