I REFER to the Sept 16 report on children's etiquette classes in my paper.
While it is heartening to note that busy parents are forking out money to send their kids to manners and etiquette classes, I believe that they should still play a major role in teaching their children etiquette and manners in real-life settings.
Being well-equipped with good manners and courteous behaviour will go a long way towards helping children develop adequate social skills in their daily interactions with classmates, friends and even future workmates.
Possessing excellent social skills will help them in establishing life-long friendships in school, and eventually prepare them for the day they step into the working world.
