Full-time parents deserve praise

GIVEN the high costs of living today, a family with children would need both parents in the workforce to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.

Hence, it takes great courage for one parent to forgo his/her income, and stay at home to care for the children.

It is even more difficult when it is the man who calls it quits to become a full-time father, as that requires a very different mindset.

Sure, money is important but it can never replace the love and time we spend with our loved ones. The hugs and kisses from our children are "rewards" that money cannot buy.

And once we miss the opportunity to watch them grow up and bond with them, we won't be able to turn back the clock.

Kudos to all fathers – and mothers alike – for making the tough yet rewarding decision to quit their jobs for their children.
