We have a solution: Grab some shut-eye, then head down to DFS (Duty Free Shopping) Scottswalk Galleria in Scotts Road to make full use of your tourist status.

While all are free to shop at the store, only tourists get a refund on the 7 per cent GST charge when they depart from Changi Airport.

DFS, which operates in 20 airports and has over 150 stores outside airports worldwide, has teamed up with French luxury label Chloe for the first time to set up seven Chloe boutiques in the DFS Galleria network.

The first opened in Hong Kong's Sun Plaza in November 2006 while others in Japan's Okinawa, Waikiki in the United States, Tumon Bay in Guam and Singapore opened last year.

Two more in Bali and Macau are set to open in March and May respectively.

To mark this partnership, DFS commissioned Chloe to come up with a limited-edition gold python skin version of the brand's Paddington tote to sell in the DFS Chloe boutiques.

Only 100 pieces are available worldwide, 15 of which hit Scottswalk Galleria on Tuesday. They retail for $4,300 each. According to a DFS spokesman, advance orders came in as early as two weeks ago.

This is not the first time DFS is offering exclusive retail therapy to jetsetters.

Previous tie-ups include the Madrid bag collection by Spanish luxury house Loewe last year, the Tokyo Bowling Bag by British label Burberry in 2006 and the unisex DFS-exclusive Heritage Stripes bag and accessories collection by American leather goods company Coach launched in limited markets last November.

Next month, the Coach collection will hit shelves at Scottswalk Galleria.

While the Heritage Stripes collection is available at all of Coach's main outlets, the DFS version of the monogram bag comes in exclusive colours like khaki red and khaki mahogany.

It will be available in designs like the Crossbody Zip satchel, a shoulder bag and totes of various sizes. Prices range from $495 to $785.
