Tease and tempt

You know it's the spring season when even the jewellers are dressing their gems up in a kaleidoscope of colours.

At SK Jewellery's event to launch its latest line of baubles, Colourado, it was a colourful affair in more ways than one.

The jewellery sparkled, the colours went psychedelic and the models got naked.

Well, almost.

The homegrown jeweller, more well-known for featuring its long-time face, Stephanie Sun, in various fail-safe combinations of white gold and diamond jewellery, pulled out all the stops to present their latest line of jewels in the most juicy ways possible.

Celebrities such as Andrea Fonseka, Beatrice Chia, Irene Ang, Jamie Yeo, Claire Jedrek, Mindee Ong, Melody Chen paraded out in a flurry of red gowns to model a jewellery collection that was crafted with unusual materials of exotic leather and coloured wool and draped with sparkles of diamonds or coloured gems. Hong Kong singer Ryan Hui also made an appearance on the runway showing off a diamond brooch worth $100,000.

The show had its naughty moments too. Models clad in body paint and not much else showed off showers of precious stones, while a couple of celebrities teased in red gowns that were slit up to almost there, or bared down to - well, you get the drift.

All in, Colourado was an eye-popping and fun collection that gives contemporary jewellery a thoroughly chic and edgy vibe.
