On June 19, the designated Cartier Love Day, Cartier pledges to donate a percentage of sales on all Love collection creations sold in its boutiques during a period of three days.
In a synchronized global action all Cartier subsidiaries around the world will contribute towards chosen humanitarian causes focusing on children. Cartier International will help children in Myanmar suffering from malnutrition through the organization 'Action Against Hunger'. Cartier Singapore will join forces with The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund whose aim is to alleviate the financial burden faced by parents in providing for their children's education and at the same time help children facing difficulties to remain at school and complete their education. In Malaysia Cartier will join forces with Daybreak, a charity focusing on children with disabilities.
Cartier's Love day 2008 also aims at combining Charity with musical expression and fine jewellery. This year twelve international artists and performers worked with Cartier in creating 12 never before released songs. Cartier made these special songs available on-line where they can be listened to and downloaded for free from www.love.cartier.com.
The song collection includes compositions from Lou Read, Ryuchi Sakamoto, Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Sol Peppy, Grand National, Khalil Fong and many more. The performers aim through their songs to spread the Love Day message and contribute to the many great humanitarian causes chosen around the world.
In Singapore Cartier pledged 10 per cent of all sales of the Love collection from the 19 to 21 June to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.
Cartier has planned a very special event at its Ngee Ann City boutique on June 18 to celebrate the start of the charity period, a number of celebrities are due attend in support of charity.
