Make-up that rocks

You've heard of fashion designers creating special collections for mass labels, like Stella McCartney for adidas and Roberto Cavalli for H&M.

Now, designers are collaborating with big cosmetic companies.

One tie-up is between New York-based designer duo Heatherette and Canadian giant M.A.C, which has been creating the former's runway make-up looks for years.

The result is a collection of colours inspired by the duo's exuberant rock 'n' roll design philosophy.

There's plenty of glitter and shades of fuchsia, pastel green and glittery turquoise in the collection's lipsticks ($28), eye shadow palettes ($54) and dual-tip eyeliners ($33).

The Heatherette collection will be available at all M.A.C counters here from July 11.

Over at Japanese cosmetics company Shu Uemura, avant garde Dutch duo Viktor & Rolf have created limited edition couture false eyelashes for its Tokyo Lash Bar 2008 collection.

The edition comprises a selection of three pairs of lashes inspired by elements from Viktor & Rolf's current spring/summer collection.

Only 40 sets of each design at $105 per pair are available here from next Tuesday at Shu Uemura beauty counters.
