1. FAITH YANG, 33

The comeback release of the indie queen, Continuation, was overshadowed by a celebrity drug bust in Taipei in December 2006.

She was wrongly identified in a television news report as being one of several stars under investigation.

She had picked up two Golden Melody awards in 2000 for best female performer and best album, but was not nominated for last year's awards.

2. MAVIS FAN, 30

The Taiwanese pop star was one of those alleged by Next Magazine in an August 2001 article to have taken part in an 'open-air drugs-and-sex party'.

The magazine was ordered in January 2004 to pay damages of NT$2 million to star pool player Chen Chun-chen, who was also implicated in the story.

Fan first came to fame singing children's songs, but has increasingly taken a more idiosyncratic direction in her music. Her last release was Breakthrough in August last year.

3. BARBIE HSU, 31

Together with her younger sister Dee Hsu, they were Taiwan's alternative group ASOS.

Dee was also another of the celebs fingered by Next magazine.

In June 2002, Hong Kong singer William So was arrested for taking Ecstasy pills. The Taiwanese press reported that he was with Barbie, Dee and Mavis Fan at another pub before his arrest.

The sisters were quick to quash any suggestion they might have been involved in drug-taking as well.

The duo have not released an album since 2002's Abnormal Girls. They are probably better known for their TV work and Barbie is currently dating pop idol Vic Chou.
