I was never alone with soldiers

SHE'S been gunning for a career in Bollywood.

But Australian celebrity Tania Zaetta may have to put that on hold as a leaked military document cast her in the leading role in an army sex scandal.

The document claimed that she had sex with Australian soldiers during a concert tour to Afghanistan last month, reported the Australian Associated Press.

The defence briefing document was circulated to departmental officers and defence minister Joel Fitzgibbon.

How it became known to the media is now the subject of a departmental investigation.

Zaetta strongly denied the allegations and has since consulted lawyers.

The host of the 1990s TV series Who Dares Wins, who has also appeared in Bollywood movies, said the scandal could destroy the career she had spent 10 years building in India.

'Perhaps I do feel like I need an apology because not only my family name but my career which I have worked very hard for is suddenly at stake here,' she told TV programme A Current Affair.

She is believed to have been paid more than A$70,000 ($91,000) to share her side of the story on Thursday night.

She denied there was video footage or pictures of her having sex at the Afghanistan base.

The 37-year-old added that the entertainers were so closely monitored there was no chance for anyone to have sex.

'I don't know where you would go. On a military base... it is a big concrete block in the middle of the desert, barbed wire everywhere. Twenty four hours a day, there are people walking everywhere,' Zaetta said.

'You were never alone with any soldiers. You are in full view of everyone else the entire time.'

Although she claimed she did not party after hours, she was encouraged to talk to as many soldiers as possible and listen to their stories.

Now, Zaetta has threatened to sue the government for compensation.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said he wanted all the facts on the table before commenting publicly on the row.

'Defence has apologised in terms of their handling of this particular document,' Mr Rudd told the Nine Network.

'There is a full defence investigation under way in relation to two matters - what transpired there (Afghanistan) and, secondly, on the question of the actual handling of this document.'
