The grand finals were held at Takashimaya Square, Basement 2 this evening and it was filled with fashion and music galore.
As The New Paper celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, show producer Daniel Boey told AsiaOne that the show is a tribute to Singapore talents.
Other than choosing the winner among 20 New Face finalists, the works of local student talent from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Raffles Design Institute were featured in four exciting sequences.
Popular home-grown band West Grand Boulevard entertained guests who were present at the show, while host Chua En-lai took to the stage with former New Paper New Face finalists Elyna Vijay and Becky Ho as his co-hosts.
Since the competition to uncover fresh talent began 16 years ago, The New Paper New Face contest continues to discover the hottest faces for Singapore's modelling and entertainment industry.
Many of The New Paper New Face winners and finalists have gone on to forge successful showbiz careers. These include international model Lee Mei McCurdy, actresses Dawn Yeoh, Phyllis Quek, Ling Lee, actress/model Desiree Siahaan and the current Mrs World International runner-up Colleen Francisca-Pereira.
The winner received $10,000 cash, while the 1st and 2nd runners-up won $5,000 cash and $3,000 cash respectively.
In addition, five subsidiary titles were awarded - "Subaru's Miss Vivacious", "Levi's Miss Lady Style", "Rowenta Miss Bella", "Takashimaya Miss Elegant", and "The New Paper Ms Popularity".
For the Ms Popularity award, The New Paper readers decided the winner by voting for their favourite contestant via Zapcode and SMS.
This year there were 6 judges, all experts from the fashion and entertainment industry. They are:
