Husband threatens wife after she exposes his affair

Madam Wong, 53, a factory worker, met her husband through friends when she was in her 20s. They got married within a short period of knowing each other.

But life was not blissful after marriage. She found that her husband had lost sexual interest in her. She also learnt later that her husband had been frequenting Geyland and soliciting for prostitutes after a family friend let her in on the news accidentally.

She decided to keep silent after discovering her husband's infidelity for her children's sake.

But after keeping mum about it for 30 years, she received a call one day that would deal her a big blow. One day, she answered a call on her husband's mobile phone. It was from a Chinese woman, who wanted her husband to marry her. Madam Wong finally lost her temper and confronted her husband.

Not only did he not admit to his mistakes, he threatened Madam Wong and made her fear for her life. He even pushed her, causing her to fall.

She recalled: "He threatened to run me over with a lorry, pour petrol over me and burn me alive. He even wanted to throw me off the building and disfigure me. I was frightened so I made a police report."

Things seemed to get better after that as her husband seemed to keep his infidelities to a minimum.

"I RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL JUST A FEW DAYS AGO"

But Madam Wong's troubles did not end.

Because of the previous incident, she took to checking her husband's mobile phone. She said:" I check his mobile phone to see if he still gets calls from the prostitutes. In the end, this Chinese woman did call, although she treid to pretend that she had gotten the wrong number."

Madam Wong did not believe her. She got a male friend to check on the number and found that she was indeed a prostitute. She said:"The woman asked my friend if he wanted her service and promised to satisfy him within the hour. She even said that he could pay her after she serviced him."

After confronting her husband for the second time, he finally saw the error of his ways and admitted his mistake. He swore not to repeat it and let their family down. As Madam Wong put her family and children first, she did not want to initiate a divorce and break up the family.

But she was devastated.

She said: "When I found out the second time, I cried continuously and even told him that I wanted to jump to my death. It was then that he begged for my forgiveness and swore that he would change for the better."

She revealed that he still goes to Geylang, but only for coffee and to look at the women there, although he denies being unfaithful.

"Now, he gives me a larger allowance. It's as if he was trying to make up for his past mistake. But I think that he will still continue to patronise those women. I really don't know what to do."

HUSBAND: I'M UNABLE TO SATISFY MY WIFE, SHE'S TOO SUSPICIOUS

Madam Wong's husband, Mr Ng, 56, pointed out that their relationship had no problems up until three years ago. All that changed when she got to know a large group of friends who often went out together for karoke sessions.

He said:"Since she started going for karoke sessions, our relationship just went on a downward spiral. Many of her friends are divorcees, and they often have affect my wife's emotions adversely."

He also added that his wife became very demanding about their sex life, and would often suspect him of being unfaithful to her whenever he was unable to satisfy her.

I'VE NOT BEEN UNFAITHFUL TO HER FOR THE PAST YEAR

Mr Ng admitted that he had ccasionally patronised red-light establishments after their marriage, but he stopped doing so in the past year.

He said, "I used to do that in the past, but it was not on a regular basis. My wife is very suspicious, and she will not accept my explanation. When our relationship began to degenerat, I would go to Geylang for a cup of coffee and while away the time. The Chinese woman who called was from more than a year ago. I don't know how it got exposed now."

Mr Ng said that he did not mean to carry out his previous threats towards Madam Wong and had blurted that out in a fit of anger. He also hopes his wife will not use those threats against him.

"I said all that because I was angry. If I had really meant to harm her, she would not still be in one piece. She fell was because I had pushed her by mistake," he said.
