Don't give up, the perfect pair of jeans exists for you

THE perfect pair of jeans is not a myth.

Out there, there is a pair that will fit you like a glove and make you feel like the sexiest person on earth.

A good pair of jeans will last you forever, unless you lose or gain a large amount of weight.

Don't rush. If you need to try on each and every pair of jeans in the shop, do it.

Don't stop at one place either.

Devote an entire weekend to the hunt for one.

This month's American GQ magazine had some great tips for jeans care. Rogan Gregory, the founder of the cult brand Rogan, said he never washes his jeans and will jump in the sea and let them dry in the sun.

His reason? 'It disinfects them.'

Easy for him to say. My mother almost disowned me when I stopped washing mine. She went behind my back and threw my jeans in the washing machine after two weeks.

George Gorrow, of Ksubi, told GQ that when buying skinny jeans, 'if you're between sizes, go up; don't go down.' And Levis design director Carl Chiara said to wear your jeans daily and let 'your sweat and oils start to morph the denim, so it becomes a personal shape.'

When you find that magical pair, treasure it.

And when the compliments come flying in, thank me for nagging you to pay great attention to it.
