Mums are in for some unusual spa and beauty treats this Mother's Day, which falls on Sunday.
Phase Hairdressing in North Bridge Road (01-05 North Bridge Commercial Complex, tel: 6337-8337) has come up with a post-natal hair treatment service for new mothers using a herbal brew.
Adapted from a recipe concocted by owner Ivy Tan's great-grandparents, it's said to improve blood circulation and remove the 'wind' which the Chinese believe builds up in the body when a woman is pregnant.
A wash costs $58 while a spa session, which includes head massages with essential oils and an ampoule containing vitamins and minerals, costs $128.
The service is part of Phase's hair spa menu launched last October.
Meanwhile, aesthetics clinic True'Est at 16-02 Ngee Ann City Tower A (tel: 6235-0990) is offering a special offer on a non-surgical facelift package.
A scalpel-free skin-tightening treatment called SkinTyte promises to strengthen the skin's collagen and give instant results. For this month, a series of three sessions costs $3,000 - down from $4,500 - and comes with a free firming facial worth $413.
Or bond over beauty treatments with Mummy dearest at My Hair Gallery at 17 Anamalai Avenue, off Sixth Avenue (tel: 6463-3836).
Till next Thursday, every $70 spent by a mother-and-child pair gets Mum a free express manicure and pedicure or a foot reflexology session.
