Willow Stream is the latest luxury spa to open in Singapore. Located in Fairmont Hotel (formerly known as Raffles the Plaza), it is a 50,000 sq ft possibility for rest and relaxation, including a fitness club that is complete with personal trainers that caters to the spa's members and hotel guests.
While Willow Stream is fairly new to Singapore, the spa, a brand that is found exclusively in Fairmont Hotels, has nine other centres worldwide located in exotic locales that range from Dubai to Mexico.
In Singapore, Willow Stream has taken over the space that once housed Raffles Amrita Spa and made use of the large premises to offer more possibilities for rest and relaxation.
As one would expect of a luxury spa, there are steam and sauna rooms, and a hot and cold pool in both the men's and women's sections. Three floors of spa also mean there is enough space to house a fitness centre consisting of a cardio theatre, strength training area and fitness studio.

Areas that pertain to your immediate spa experience include the RafflesAmrita pavilion, which is still available for those familiar with the spa's previous incarnation, as well as a private lounge with a meditation area for spa-goers to rest in after their treatments, as well as 35 spacious treatment rooms.
And if you fancy a luxurious treat for yourself and someone special, there are three VIP suites to let your pampering fancy take flight.
What came as a pleasant surprise was the fairly wide variety on the spa menu - I counted 39 types of treatments.
This means there is a treatment for every possible facial and body concern, from hydration for mature skin to a recovery session for the frequent traveller and even one for women who have been wearing their stilettos for a little too long.
I tried the Ultimate Facial Experience, the spa's signature facial, and also an anti-ageing treatment. True to its philosophy of providing an energizing experience, the facial began with a foot scrub, footbath and a quick hand massage and moisture wrap for my digits.
Before beginning the faceworks, the therapist first ensconced me in a comfortable down blanket, which made the whole experience feel like I was getting my facial done in the comfort of my own bed. For the remainder of the treatment, the therapist used skincare from US-based spa care line, Kerstin Florian, to repair and restore skin.
I am treated to its signature Caviar Line, with caviar extract to repair and nourish skin. The treatment by the therapist included a skin analysis that allowed her to tell me about my skin's condition and decide which cleansers, scrubs, moisturisers and aromatherapy oils were most suitable for my skin. That was followed by the facial proper, which included exfoliation and a contour lifting face massage to improve skin's luminosity and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
While my face felt refreshed at the end of the facial, I was also pleased with the restful timeout that I got, seeing how I tuned out from the world to the piped in sounds of chirping birds and a trickling stream when my therapist was working on my face.
My spa experience ended at the private lounge area, where I could make use of the lounge beds to relax for a little and sip on a free flow of sweet herbal ginger tea to perk up my system as I took in my surrounding's calming ambience.
