Celebrity spawn, model and fashion designer Jade Jagger's latest creation isn't meant to be worn.

Instead, you can use it to stab something.

The daughter of The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger has come up with a bejewelled dagger for Polish luxury vodka brand Belvedere.

The limited edition, US$250,000 (S$340,000) Belvedere Jagger Dagger is inlaid with 12 carats of diamonds, 42 sapphires and an 18-carat white gold hilt.

Its mirror-polished carbon steel blade is engraved with the frosted tree branches that also adorn the Belvedere Vodka bottle.

'I have always been inspired by the heritage of Arthurian legend and Viking mythology. So it was very exciting to create a piece like this,' Jagger, 37, said in a press statement.

Only five of the precious daggers have been produced. Four will be given to charities and one will be on sale at Harrods' Fine Jewellery Department in London or online at www.harrods.com.

The Belvedere-Jagger collaboration (coincidentally, Jagger was born in Belvedere Nursing Home in Paris in 1971, the only child from Sir Mick's first marriage to Nicaraguan model Bianca) is accompanied by a series of images of her wielding her dagger a la Basic Instinct. They were shot by risque American photographer Terry Richardson.

At the launch of the dagger in Mumbai, India, last month - just one of a string of invite-only events planned around the world - the leggy Jagger was the guest of honour at a press lunch in the city's upmarket Mediterranean restaurant Indigo.

Clad in a black-and-white tuxedo shirt-dress of her own design, with black stones studding its bib-front, she smiled stoically through the small talk, and declined to give interviews to most of the media gathered there.

When Urban edged up to her, she gave nothing away in a brief, painfully polite chat.

She did, however, reveal her savvy businesswoman side when she asked us which are the top Singapore boutiques her clothes should be sold in.

Typing the names we gave her into her Blackberry, she joked: 'See, I got something out of you.'

But before anyone can say 'ice queen', she turned on the charm during a brief interview with an Indian television station, conducted in front of a gaggle of onlookers.

How does Jade, who has a house in Goa, like India?

'It's one of my favourite places in the world, so I'm very happy to be here.'

Why did Jade create a dagger?

'I wanted to create a jewel piece which can better enhance the ceremony of making the best cocktail in the world.'

Would Jade consider starring in a Bollywood film?

Too shy.

What's it like having Papa as a Rolling Stone?

'My Mum and Dad are just that - my Mum and Dad.'

Would she like her two daughters, 16-year-old Assisi and 12-year-old Amba, to follow in her footsteps as model and designer?

More than happy.

Later, after a sit-down gala dinner - complete with a mural-painting performance and copious amounts of smooth vodka cocktails by top mixologist Sam Jeveons at Mumbai's historic and majestic Taj Mahal Palace & Tower - the rock 'n' roll offspring danced up a storm in her cream, strapless satin dress.

Hiking up her full skirt flamenco style, she kicked up her flip-flop-clad heels with her daughters and entourage.

Besides the glitzy, limited edition weapons, a less luxe version, made up of 12 carats of white topaz, 42 aquamarine stones, with a solid silver hilt, is also available.

A hundred pieces, priced at US$10,000 each, have been produced. Exclusive nightspots like Crystal in Central London and 1Oak in New York City will get to brandish the designer dagger which also doubles as an ice pick.

Order Belvedere vodka at these chic watering holes, and it'll be delivered to your table along with a block of ice.

Models wearing clothes from Jagger's own Jezebel fashion label will then use the ornate dagger to hand-crack the ice - the whole experience is dubbed a 'bespoke ritual' by the spirit brand.

If you're wondering, the irregular surfaces of hand-cracked ice make it melt more slowly than smooth ice cubes, keeping vodka cold without diluting its taste and potency.

There's hope, yet, if you really want to own a Belvedere Jagger Dagger.

One priced at $15,000 will make its way here soon.

The dagger and campaign images shot by Richardson will be on display at Clarke Quay from May 27 to June 8. The dagger is available for sale here through the Moet Hennessy Diageo sales department. For enquiries, call 6838-9800.
