A watch no longer just keeps time. It needs to multi-task as a fashion accessory these days too.

To share about the art of watch-making, Nuyou Time celebrated the launch its 2008 edition at the Paragon with a cocktail event recently. Nuyou Time, published by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd, has been a reference for watch-lovers and enthusiasts since it started six years ago.

Guests at the event were treated to a display of luxury timepieces from Cortina Watch, with limited edition pieces that were specially created for the watch house's 35th anniversary, new brands and other exclusive ranges on display. Eight models, dressed in Melinda Looi haute couture, showed off exquisite pieces that were dressed up with precious gems and crafted with complicated workmanship.

Grace Lee, Editor-in-Chief of Nuyou Time, said: "Singaporean watch collectors are known to be sophisticated. Not only do they want to know what's new and trendy, they also want to be informed of the exquisite make-up of the pieces they are interested in. Hence Nuyou Time aims to give our readers an easy read to the technical background of the fine pieces."
